Kirstin Farris
Kirstin graduated in 1996 with her bachelors from SNU and has been employed with Excel Therapy Specialists since 2005. Kirstin is married and lives in Tulsa with her husband and three year old son. When Kirstin isn’t at work she enjoys running, swimming and just being a mom. |
Mike Flanary, PT
Mike
Flanary has been in clinical practice in Tulsa, OK
since 1994. He graduated from Langston University School
of Physical Therapy and soon after received his certification
for Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
(CSCS). In 2000, Mike finished his Masters of Science
Degree in Management from Southern Nazarene University.
Over the years, he has specialized in the field of
orthopedic sports medicine. He has also served as a
therapist for the LPGA, Women’s US Open, local
golf courses and country club events as well as numerous
rodeos, soccer tournaments and other community outreach
opportunities such as performing baseball pitching
analyses. Mike’s expertise is an innovative approach
integrating strength training concepts and muscular
balance for the rehabilitation of injured individuals.
Mike is a founding partner and the Vice President
of Excel Therapy Specialists, LLC. He serves the company
as the Chief Clinical Officer and treats patients in
the Tulsa facility. Mike is an avid golfer, OU fan
and enjoys wakeboarding. He and his wife, Jennifer,
have one son and one daughter. |
Darrell Platt, PT
Darrell
Platt obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical
Therapy from the University of Oklahoma Health Science
Center in 1994. He specializes in workers compensation
injuries, work reconditioning and Functional Capacity
Evaluations. Darrell has both hospital and outpatient
clinical experience. Along with treating patients for
Excel Therapy Specialists in the Tulsa facility at
21st
& Lewis, Darrell is an on-site physical therapist
for two companies in the Tulsa area: Whirlpool and
IC Corp of Oklahoma (an international school bus manufacturing
plant). Providing on-site care gives Darrell the advantage
of observing his patients in their work setting and
transferring their actual job duties to physical therapy
exercises and conditioning to get the patient back
to work sooner and safer.
Darrell and his wife of twelve years, Tressie, have
two daughters and a son. Outside the clinic, Darrell
enjoys participating in many recreational sports as
well as watching the OSU Cowboys play and spending
time with his wife and children. |
Jerimiah Childress, PTA
Jerimiah Childress received his Associates of Science degree in Physical Therapist Asst. from Tulsa Community College in 2003. His clinical career began in Okmulgee, OK in 2004, and then moved to Tulsa when Excel purchased that clinic.
Jerimiah’s primary interest lays in outpatient rehabilitation and helping athletes and the athletic at heart get the most out of their rehabilitation.
Outside of his profession, Jerimiah is active in pursuing fitness and sports. He and his wife Angela, have 3 daughters. |
Tressie Platt, PT
Tressie obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 1994 from the University of Oklahoma. She began clinical practice in Tulsa after graduation and has experience in inpatient rehabilitation, home health, and outpatient orthopedics. She and Darrell have been married for 15 years and have 3 children: 2 daughters and 1 son. Tressie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, entertaining, and many recreational activities. Growing up in Stillwater made Tressie a life long OSU Cowboy fan. |
Monty Ward, MPT
Monty Ward has been in clinical practice in Tulsa, OK since 2005. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelors of Science degree in Health Promotion in 1999. After working as a health and fitness coordinator for the YMCA and as a PT tech he returned to school and completed his Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 2005. During his 2 ½ years of practice he has worked predominately in outpatient orthopedics working with a variety of diagnosis. He also spent a short time working in the Home Health setting. Monty is currently working towards his manual therapy certification with the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy in order to further develop his clinical skills. Outside the clinic, Monty enjoys playing golf and other recreational sports as well as watching OSU sports. He and his wife Angela have been married for 11 years. |
Shelly Walentiny, OT
Shelly graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. She has worked in a variety of settings including: inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation specializing in neurological impairments and upper extremity injuries. Shelly currently is working towards specializing in UE orthopedics and hand therapy. Shelly and her husband recently returned to Tulsa from Arkansas and are happy to be back in Green Country. |
